Eastleigh (Fleming Park) swimmers won 23 golds, set 19 meet records and captured the trophy for top visiting club at the City of Southampton meet.

Six of the club's swimmers picked up top girl/boy awards - Sebastian Willcocks (10), Oliver Summers (11), Joshua Willcocks (12), Alexander Reeves (14) and Lucie Newbegin (15).

Oliver Summers (11) scooped gold and a new meet record in all five of his events. Highlights were his personal-best performances in the 50m freestyle (28.48), 50m breaststroke (38.40) and 100m medley (1:13.86). Also in this age group, Robert Crook earned silver in the 50m freestyle (30.97).

Alexandra Warren (11) won gold in the 50m breaststroke (39.62) setting a new meet record.

The ten-year-olds were equally impressive with Willcocks taking four golds, one silver and four meet records, with personal bests in the 100m medley and 50m backstroke.

Sonny Shepherd was second in the 50m freestyle (33.19pb) and medley (1:25.77pb) and third in the breaststroke and backstroke.

Nicola Fulford was second in the 50m butterfly and third in the 100m medley (1:26.82pb), with Laura Vella second in the 50m freestyle (34.71pb).

Gemma Barry, Naomi Collicott, Harry Fisher, Rozalia Read and Mark Warren clocked many pbs.

Joshua Willcocks (12) also won all five of his events in meet record and personal best times.

James Over celebrated his first top three place with a bronze in the 100m medley (1:19.82pb), while Nicola Gentles, only recently 12, gained silver in the breaststroke (39.09pb) and bronze in the butterfly (35.88pb), backstroke (35.94pb), medley and freestyle.

In the 13-years age group, Simon Pragnell took silver in the 100m medley in a pb of 1:13.11 and bronze in the backstroke. Mary Gilbert swam a pb in the 50m butterfly to take bronze in 34.68.

Alexander Reeves (14) took gold and set new meet records in the 50m butterfly (29.93pb) and the 100m medley (1:07.35pb). There were also silvers for Reeves in the 50m breaststroke and backstroke.

In the 15-year old age group, Lucie Newbegin won the 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 100m medley, and was second in the backstroke.

Marie Bushnell, Robert Gilbert, Chris Hill and Kelly Parkhouse also gained valuable points, while Katrina Brace, Elizabeth Boyes, Tom Musker and David Vella bettered entry times and achieved several pbs.
