THE contribution made by women to the Royal Navy's work is uncovered in a new exhibition of historic photographs.
The display, at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport, looks at the role of the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS) during the First World War.
It also charts the contribution of women serving in the Royal Navy, up to the present day.,
Debbie Corner, keeper of photographs and a former Wren, organised the exhibition, entitled Free a Man for Sea - from Domestic to Destroyer. WRNS, rationing and role reversal.
Admission to the museum costs 50p. The exhibition runs for the next six months.
