ANGERED Greenpeace activists yesterday posted letters to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Defence claiming the removal of their anti-war blockade was unlawful.

The messages to Geoff Hoon and Tony Blair called for a reversal of their decision to drag Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior from Marchwood Military Port on Saturday evening.

More than 20 members of the Hampshire and military police forces boarded the ship from the Admiralty tug Powerful, claiming a breach of section 100 of the 1995 Merchant Shipping Act.

After removing the Greenpeace boat's anchor with an oxyacetylene welding torch they dragged the boat to Berth 49 of Southampton Commercial Port.

An interim injunction ruled on Friday that the Rainbow Warrior could remain in front of Marchwood Military Port as long as no members of the crew attempted to board or attach themselves to military supply ships.

Greenpeace spokesman Rob Gueterbock said he hoped the judge would uphold the ruling made on Friday in the full hearing tomorrow.
