Portland striker James Reeve scored two second half goals at Christchurch in a match reduced to ten a side.

Christchurch utility man John Grace and Portland's Andy Mason were both sent off in the second half to the anger of both managers.

Christchurch boss Nigel Cripps said: "Up until the sending off it was a great game of football to watch and a great advert for the Wessex League that was spoilt by one bad decision.

"Our sending off hurt us more than theirs hurt them because John likes to sit in the hole and without him we got caught out by two long balls."

Portland boss Nick Preston said: "Andy Mason's sending off was really nothing more than handbags at six paces. We will definitely be appealing against it."

Former Weymouth player manager Mason's sending off was the first off his career but it did not stop Reeve bagging two goals.

Reeve grabbed his first in the 70th minute after springing the Christchurch offside trap, and added a second on 83 minutes from the edge of the area.

DML side Havant and Waterlooville are keeping tabs on Christchurch midfielder Ross Edwards.

Hawks co-manager Liam Daish admitted he was impressed with the teenage dynamo following their 4-0 Hampshire Senior Cup success last Tuesday.

Priory joint boss Nigel Cripps revealed: "Liam said he was going to keep an eye on him as one for the future. He said Ross was better off playing for us for another couple of years than going to Havant and sitting in their reserves.

"Ross played really well in the second-half and impressed Liam so he gave us his number so we can also let him know if there are any other lads we think he might like to have a look at.

"I think Ross can do it if he applies himself. We won't hold the lad back if he gets a chance to play in a higher league."
