IT TURNED into a black Christmas for Ordnance Survey midfielder Paul Phipps in Saturday's Hampshire League Division 2 derby match against Hamble Club.
Phipps went into a 50-50 challenge just before half-time and broke his leg. Survey, who were well on top at the time, were detuned by the incident and collapsed to a 2-0 defeat.
Before half-time when Survey were bossing affairs, they missed their two principle strikers Steel Saunders and Brenton McLean. Saunders has been snapped up by Fleet Town and McLean is serving a seven-game ban.
Darren Harley and Gordon McLean scored the Hamble club goals in the second-half.
