A graduate from King Alfred's College in Winchester - a winner of the "Your Shout" Millennium Award - screened her new film in the city on Sunday.

Norma Ndebele (29) filmed the 15-minute docufilm, Our Lives in Their Hands, in Winchester during the summer and it was shown at The Screen cinema in Southgate Street.

The short film was made to raise awareness about the importance of setting up a pension plan. It will be used by Hampshire County Council in schools, colleges and libraries.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Norma moved to England in 1991. She started a BA Honours degree course in drama, television and film in 1999 and graduated in July.

"When we stopped younger people in the street and asked them about pension plans, they did not know much about them at all and most were not concerned about it either," said Norma, who now lives in London and works for Thames Television.
