Campaigners in Byron Avenue, Winchester, are gearing up for the second round of their phone mast battle with a New Year vigil.

The action group will be meeting up to "see in the New Year and see off Orange" ahead of the public inquiry, which resumes on January 15th.

Campaigner, Karen Barratt, said: "The idea was that it would be nice for the residents to meet on the site, simply because we're moving into our third year.

"People are worried about phone masts and this is going to focus them again after the Christmas break. "

The vigil starts at 9pm in Byron Avenue on December 31st. People are invited to bring a bottle, a glass and a candle and attend for all or part of the night.
