A NEW indoor play area for children has opened in Whitchurch and is already proving a success after just six weeks.

Planet Playland, in Evingar Road, offers a two-storey play area and party room for kids, as well as a lounge area and restaurant for parents.

Also on site is family hair salon Planet Cuts, run by Koulla Achilleos, where parents and children can get hair cuts while they play.

Planet Play-land is open every day from 9am until 7pm and caters for babies, toddlers and children, with a maximum height restriction of 4ft 10ins.

Adults and babies are entitled to free admission, toddlers up to the age of two are charged £2.50 and all other children pay £4. Duty manager Sharon Warbey says things are going well and the privately owned play area has a number of ideas in place for families in the area.

Every Tuesday bet-ween 10am and noon, parents and childminders can take part in a free activity mo-rning and other plans are being discussed to expand the facility.

Christmas celebrations are al-ready under way, with Father Christmas welcoming children from 1 December.
