The cost of a Southampton Football Club season ticket at St Mary's stadium for Simon Coffin has proved more expensive than he thought.

His wife, Kathi, agreed he could buy a ticket - as long as he sponsored the netball team of which she is a member. So, while Simon is cheering on super Saints, Kathi can spend her Saturday afternoons doing what she enjoys, playing netball. So began the life of Rotary Technical Solutions Netball team.

The team has been together for the past few years under the name of Jantec Printing. However, most were playing netball before that, namely the team originals Helen Hancock, Rachel Doswell and Sue Collins from HWP followed by the youngster of the team Leanne Robinson.

Jenny Hancock and Kathi Coffin joined them from Guardian and Mandy Collinson and Diane Stevens from Bursledon. Another couple of players who have also recently joined are Kathy Burton and Lorraine Bassett.

Rotary can now been seen in their new colours of royal blue and white and have maintained their position within Division 3 - despite being convinced that they are the shortest netball team in Southampton.

The fixture against Grinners News was going to be a tough one with both teams evenly matched.

The score wavered from one team to the next with not much between the two playing standards of all the players. The spirit of the game was excellent and the umpires made some good decisions to keep the game flowing.

At the end of this match Rotary only lost to Grinners News by one goal and proved that they may be short in height but not in commitment.
