Hampshire's hopes of getting a second player on the Evian European Ladies Tour crumbled in Grenoble when Emma Weeks went out after the third round stage of Tour School.

Weeks was aiming to emulate her old Hampshire friend and teammate, Kirsty Taylor, who earned her card in 2001 and finished as European Tour Rookie of the Year for 2002.

But, after a six-over-par first round of 79, the Hockley player was struggling just to make the halfway cut which she managed with a fine second round of 71. Her chances, though, of advancing to the fourth and final round were destroyed by a 76 which left her equal 64th in the final standings.

In the end, 31 players were awarded tour cards for next season, including three English girls - Caroline Grady, Sara Bennett and Suzanne Dickens. England's biggest hope, Rebecca Hudson, was handicapped by a neck injury and struggled to 44th place, good enough only for one of 28 category ten conditional cards awarded for next season.
