FRENZIED Welsh fiddlers Blue Horses return to the Brook in fine fettle. Led by vocalist/fiddler Liz Prendergast and bandleader/ drummer/arranger Nic Waulker, the band are veterans of festival mainstages across the UK and Europe.
Formed in south Wales in 1994, they have rapidly established a reputation as one of the most innovative contemporary roots bands around, combining a diverse and dynamic mix of styles and sounds.
Their 1999 album, Dragons Milk and Coal, was voted Mojo magazine album of the month and their recent CD, Ten Leagues Beyond the Wild Worlds End, released last year, mixes lyrical wit and humour with their uniquely passionate sound.
A new album is pencilled in for release later this year.
September 7, The Brook, Southampton. Tickets: £7. Box office: 023 8055 5366.
