The couple convicted of the murder of Valerie Tallett at Sussex Street hostel, Winchester, have asked for leave to appeal against their sentences.
Kerry Vincent and Stephen Lochead were jailed for life in July for murdering Miss Tallett at the hostel last year. They were found guilty of killing her by stabbing her in the stomach.
Court officials must now decide whether they have grounds for appeal, as the bid has missed the four-week deadline following conviction.
