Old Patesians, the side that Havant beat to get their National League Division Three South campaign under way last week, could be in line for a Hampshire one-two if Basingstoke can follow in their county rivals footsteps.

Ian Calder's side are on the road for the second time in succession as they travel west to Cheltenham, who suffered a 43-32 reverse at Hooks Lane six days ago.

Although Calder did not have the match watched, he has made some enquiries about the Gloucestershire club, although he feels that is unimportant at this stage of the season.

Forced to make a couple of changes to the side that defeated Tabard 28-25, Tony Jones comes in for the working Neal Taylor, while Kelvin Chap-man switches from number eight to lock in place of Steve Drawbridge.

Young Steve Buttle replaces Neil Young, who is training to be a fireman and unlikely to be available for three months while he undergoes the intensive course. Chapman's place in the back row goes to West Indian international Selwyn St Bernard.

"Two away wins would be a great start for us," feels Calder. "Patesians lost to Havant last week and were quite slow about it, I believe, so I hope we can exploit that. However, we just need to play our game and let them concentrate on theirs."

Havant play another side they have never met before in Kent side Westcombe Park and they do so with skipper Joe Duffett back in the side having missed the Patesians victory.

Westcombe finished fourth last season, so it is sure to require a maximum effort from the Hooks Lane squad, who will be aiming to send the hosts to their second straight defeat, having gone down at Lydney in week one.

The visitors include Zimbabwean international Wesley Robertson and former Camberley centre Neil McRoberts for the first time in Havant colours, while Steve Jack returns, having moved down from the starting line-up just 20 minutes before kick-off last week through injury.

Veterans prop Steve Walsh is called up as cover in the front row, with Jack and fellow Kiwi Adrian Mitchell struggling with injury.
