A CAR park for the newly-opened Rooksbury Mill Park has been agreed by members of Test Valley Borough Council.
The new car park will cost £112,000 but Andover councillor Rod Bailey, wondered whether the huge expense of acquiring the mill and bringing the area into use was causing delays to other projects.
He was particularly worried about the delays in building a replacement for the Way Out club in his ward.
“Has this project been put back?” he asked. “If it is because of Rooksbury Mill then I am not very happy about it.”
Cllr Caroline Nokes, the executive member for leisure, said: “I am aware there are some delays with this project but it is not caused by Rooksbury Mill. It is important that Rooksbury Mill is open and accessible.
“It will meet the needs of a growing town for green space and be important to the town and the town’s children.”
Mark Cooper said he thought Rooksbury Mill was excellent and an asset to Andover.
