ANDOVER youngsters are to add their own silent tribute to the memory of murdered schoolgirls, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, and one of their own Andover friends who died in a road crash just before the summer.

The finals day of the Testway 7s tomorrow will start with one minute of silence for the Soham girls and Troy Parker, the Andover boy who was tragically killed in an accident in June.

Testway 7s is a special project aimed at keeping kids out of trouble over the summer holidays. Last year, Troy took part in the competition and trained with one of the estate teams.

A spokesman for the project said: “The deaths of one or all these children have touched everyone involved in the project in some way.

“The girls who have played football this year are all around the age of the girls who went missing and many of the boys knew Troy and played with him in the competition last year.”

Over 100 youngsters, mainly from Andover housing estates, signed up for the scheme which encourages them to keep occupied during the holidays.
