ANDOVER hope to have former 'keeper Kieron Drake back between the posts for this Saturday's trip to Moneyfields in the JWL.

Lions manager Howard Goddard said: "We're still negotiating but if it all goes well he will be in the squad for Saturday."

Drake, a member of Ken Cunningham Brown's triumphant side that won a total of six trophies in the last two years, including two JWL titles, was one of a number of last season's squad that was expected to move with KCB when he took over at Salisbury.

However, when KCB quit the Dr Marten's League club Drake joined Ryman League outfit Windsor & Eton at the start of the season but has been unable to win a regular place in the side and contacted Andover about returning to The Portway.

Skipper Glen Damen is also back for the trip to Moneyfields after missing last Saturday's FA Cup defeat and Sam Rae has also been named in a 17-man squad but will need to have a pre-match fitness test on his injured hamstring.

Andover will have one new signing at Moneyfields with former Bemerton and Whitchurch player Ian Knight, who has been training with Stockbridge, moving to The Portway. The younger son of former Whitchurch joint-manager Graham Knight, now assisting Gary Prince at Andover New Street, midfielder Ian had a brief spell with the Lions a few years ago before going to work in Australia and Thailand.

Andover (from): Drake, Witcher, Damen (capt), Knight, George, Phil Nicholls, Keith Nicholls, Kennendy, Hughes, McNulty, Nurse, Bennett, Butler, Holman, Marriner, Sullivan, Randall.

Whitchurch have managed to sort out their goalkeeping problems with Robert Lewis taking over for the next three weeks with regular 'keeper Dave Smalley away on his honeymoon.

Lewis will make his debut in this Saturday's JWL clash at home to Thatcham but Whitchurch boss Brian Drury is struggling to field a side with five of his regulars all attending Smalley's wedding.

Andover and Whitchurch are also in action next Tuesday night in the JWL with the Lions at home to BAT Sports (7.45pm) and Whitchurch away to AFC Newbury.
