The dates for the 49th London Boat Show have been brought forward to January 2-12 2003.

The show was originally scheduled to take place from January 9-19 but had to be changed when it was realised that the Amusement Trades Exhibition (ATE) was due to take place just three days after the proposed final day of the Boat Show.

The change was necessary because it takes a full six days to clear the boats and show equipment from the Earls Court site.

An independent arbitrator decided that the ATE show should be permitted to go ahead with the dates agreed with Earls Court on 21-23 January 2003 because their agreement was made before that of the London Boat Show organisers National Boat Shows.

National Boat Shows may bring a claim against Earls Court for damages as a result of being unable to open the London Boat Show on the dates previously advertised.
