SOLDIERS from the Tidworth based 1st Battalion The Staff-ordshire Regiment are hoping for a entry in the Guinness Book of Records after cooking the world's biggest oatcake at Mooltan Barracks.
Cooking the giant cake took place in a specially built frying pan which needed six soldiers to lift it. The ingredients included 16lbs of oatmeal flour mixed with salt, sugar and dried yeast and 30 pints of warm milk and water.
Afterwards the giant oatcake toured the Midlands as part of a regimental recruitment drive.
