ISLE OF of Wight Internet-based retail company Buying-British.co.uk has set out to establish an armchair shopping selection of goods that have been manufactured using British labour, parts and materials.

The Internet store, which started operations early this year, prides itself on selling goods that are as near as possible 100 per cent 'home-made'.

The company says it is partnering some of the bastions of British manufacturing to present the cream of British industry on the Net.

Already it has 815 products under five categories from clothing to housewares, collectables to educational games and outdoor and leisure.

It says its sole aim is to promote and sell UK-manufactured products direct to customers and businesses.

It says it has teamed up with national brands such as Crummels English Enamels, Dualit and The Green Board Game Company as well as famous cottage industry names such as TyHanleigh Knitwear and the Island's own Chessell Porcelain.

The site is in constant negotiations with top names in British manufacturing to increase the product range and offer the best British-made goods.

It claims prices are only fractionally above trade prices to people throughout the UK and, shortly, around the world and says it will attempt to deliver products within two working days.
