BROTHERS Lee and Neil Morris are keeping a proud family tradition going on the racing circuits of England this summer.

Lee has announced that the Southampton-based Chrysalis motor cycle road racing team is set to continue in the national Superstock Championship.

They will run one of Rob Willsher's potent Suzuki GSX-R's and are currently talking to potential riders.

Their parents Dave and Alison formed the Chrysalis team 20 years ago and Dave went on to win three Singles TT's and take the national title for single cylinder machines before losing his life in a racing accident at Croft in 1999.

In a cruel twist of fate the boys lost their mother through a sudden illness just days later.

But they resolved to keep the family name alive in road racing and, after taking the team to the 2000 TT races where their riders John McGuinness and Jason Griffiths achieved a one-two, they made their debut in the British Superstock Championship last year.

And it proved a successful baptism with northern-based rider Howard Whitby racing on to the podium then grabbing provisional pole for the race at Brands Hatch before crashing heavily in practice.

Whitby's injuries kept him out for a couple of rounds and when he returned things weren't quite the same.

But Lee said: "We learned a lot of lessons and are determined to carry on. We need to find some extra financial backing to do the full season but we hope there will be a good rider on board for the first round."
