ANDY Morgan-Lee, the Fair Oak-based distance runner, has been called up for Great Britain to run in the World Half Marathon Championships at Bristol on Sunday.
His elevation from unranked half marathon man to Great Britain team member was achieved in the matter of six weeks starting from his run in the trials at Glasgow when he was not even given an elite number to enable him to start on the front grid.
Morgan-Lee, pictured, who runs for Salford AC, but also represents Southampton Road Runners, finished as the fifth British man home in the Glasgow race with a personal best time of just over 64 and a half minutes.
The GB team will be gathering in Bristol today, which will require the Hampshire runner to take leave from work an Occular Sciences to join his teammates and coaches.
