GARY SHARMAN came out on top for a Southampton Sea Angling Club competition on Weston Jetty.
Only five fish were caught, with Sharman topping the scales thanks to two flounders weighing 700g. Second was Arthur Swanbough with a 590g flounder, which was the heaviest fish and took the pool money, third was Alan Hayball with 380g flounder. No juniors weighed in.
Forty members took part in a rover competition, with 40 fish being weighed in totally 17kg 290g
Bill Byns won the event with eight flounders weighing 4kg 110g, followed by Alan Haball with six flounders for 2kg 160g. Others: three Roy Dyke, one thicklip mullet 1kg 430g, three Sally Hipwell, five flounders 1kg 430g.
Jay Ladher was the best junior with three flounders for 1kg 800g, while John Haball caught four flounders for 1kg 420g.
Dyke took the pool money for the heaviest fish, a thicklip mullet which tipped the scales at 1kg 430g.
