OLD School comedy comes to the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth next month, with an all-star line-up of comedy giants.

Frank Carson, Duncan Norvelle, Jimmy Cricket and Norman Collier's Make 'Em Laugh show promises to have the audience rolling in the aisles.

The evening will be compared by the not-so-long-in-the-tooth Paul Adams, who has already made his name as a stand-up comic.

Frank Carson was to Seventies entertainment what Hear'Say are to contemporary pop, becoming a star after winning the TV talent show Opportunity Knocks three times.

Since them, Carson has become a household name, making the phrase "it's a cracker", uttered in an attempt at an Irish accent, a common feature of everyday speech.

Duncan Norvelle made his name on shows like Wogan, Bullseye and Summertime Special, inviting his hosts to pursue him with his catchphrase "chase me".

However, when the pendulum of comedy taste swung away from mainstream television stand-up and towards alternative in the Eighties, Norvelle re-launched himself as a live performer.

Jimmy Cricket also made his name through a television talent show, getting his break on Search for a Star.

Since then, he has gone on to have his own television and radio shows.

Norman Collier became famous overnight in 1971, with his show-stopping performance in the Royal Variety Performance.

Not content being famous just for making people laugh, Collier has also had success in the pop world with his single The Singing Chicken.

Despite their long careers in the entertainment industry, these four comedy stalwarts promise plenty of fresh material that is sure to have people weeping with laughter - it's the way they tell them.

Make 'Em Laugh is appearing on Wednesday October 10.
