Andover used three goalkeepers and had Shaun Dyke sent off but still managed to beat Eastleigh 4-3 at the Portway Stadium, despite trailing 3-2 at half-time.

The JWL champions, rocked by a first-minute header from Eastleigh's Matt Jones, levelled through Glen Damen, but then had their game plan totally disrupted.

Goalkeeper Kieron Drake limped out of the action, leaving striker Vince Rusher to pull on the keeper's jersey.

Rusher's first task was to pick Craig McAllister's shot out of the net and, after an equaliser from the influential Dave Asker, he was beaten again - this time by ex-Christchurch striker, Liam Green.

It didn't get any better for Andover when Dyke got his marching orders for a second-half incident.

Chasing the game, Andover sent Rusher up front and put their player-coach Matt Crossley, the former Wycombe Wanderers defender, in goal.

And how Ken Cunningham-Brown's plan paid off.

In less than ten minutes, Andover had turned the game on its head - ex-Saints defender Mark Blake making it 3-3 and Nick Turpin grabbing the winner.

Table-topping Bournemouth Poppies maintained their unbeaten record in a 1-1 home draw against last season's runners-up Lymington & New Milton.

Linnets, without suspended duo Leigh and Brett Phillips and the holidaying Richard Glenister, fell behind early on when Gary Clark capitalised on a mistake from keeper Stewart Kearn.

The equaliser came with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining - substitute Nick Bunyard providing a pin-point cross for Matty Town to head past Poppies keeper Simon Rayner.

Second-placed Christchurch, one point behind their near neighbours, were made to fight for a 3-2 win at cellar dwellers Swanage Town & Herston.

It was the Swans sixth straight defeat of the season, but when Chad Gould gave them a shock early lead it looked as if an upset could be on the cards.

Two-goal Ross Edwards and Tom Hughes turned the tables Priory's way before Magnus Pulloch set up a nervous finish.

Christchurch boss Nigel Cripps said: "All credit to Swanage. They're playing with a lot of kids who are battling hard for the club."

Third-placed AFC Totton are fast becoming the JWL draw specialists - the 1-1 result at home to Wimborne Town being their third draw in six outings.

Disrupted by an early injury to former Eastleigh defender Mark Thompson, Totton snatched a 20th-minute lead against the run of play through a Steve Jones penalty, awarded for a foul on Martin Whiddett, but Tony White netted Magpies' 51st-minute equaliser.

Wimborne boss Alex Pike said: "I have to be happy with a point at Totton. They are definitely a top-six side, so if you can go there and get something then you are doing well."

Brockenhurst are gradually pulling things together after a two-match losing start. Their 3-0 success at Fareham was their third win in a row and gave them sweet revenge for defeat by Mark Chamberlain's men on the opening day of the season.

Phil Stone (2) and Gareth Barnes, who also had a penalty saved by Lee Webber, bagged the goals and Brock boss, Chris Collinge, said: "We're still not playing to our best potential but we've got the team spirit now and we're getting there."

Triumphant Ventnor cricket captain Mark Fletcher was on target for Cowes Sports, who were rewarded with a 1-1 draw from their long trek to Portland United.

But Fletcher's fifth minute header, which gave the Yachtsmen an early advantage, was soon cancelled by Portland's Mark Fitch.

A 4-2 win over Bemerton Heath Harlequins proved the ideal pick-me-up for Fleet Town, who had suffered three away defeats on the spin.

Seventh-placed Fleet effectively had the points in the bag by half-time,with new strike duo Steve Mesher and Mark Frampton getting one each, and Ben Neville grabbing a third before half-time. Frampton struck again in the second half.

Young Ian Proctor's goal was BAT's only shining light in a 4-1 home defeat by Thatcham.
