Carnival organisers are hoping there will be a last-minute surge of floats for this year's event.
A spokesman said that response had been good so far but they were looking for more floats to make the carnival procession on Saturday, June 23, even bigger.
Carnival procession competitors will be asked to assemble at Barbe Baker Avenue at 11.45am on carnival day for judging at 12.15pm. The parade is due to set off at 1pm to tour the village.
Anyone interested in taking part should contact Dave House on 023 8047 1631.
Meanwhile, people interested in taking a 15ft pitch on Hatch Grange for carnival day should ring 023 8046 2371. Charges will be £15 for clubs and charities and £35 for trade stalls.
