CALLS for a full inquiry into Gulf War-related illnesses have been backed by Eastleigh MP David Chidgey.
Mr Chidgey has weighed in with his support for the Royal British Legion's campaign urging the government to hold an investigation into the cases of veterans still suffering, a decade after the war.
He has asked ministers to disclose what steps they are taking to meet the needs of those left with undiagnosed illnesses and of the dependants of those who have died.
Mr Chidgey said: "A proper inquiry would remedy the failure of governments to act openly in the interests of veterans and their families. It would help restore confidence in the armed services and provide the same level of treatment given to veterans in the USA."
