The Eastleigh 10K Road Race has been ranked in the top ten of its type for the 15th year running by Runners World magazine.
Based on a survey carried out among a cross-section of competitors, the assessment covers aspects of organisation, course quality, advertising and general appeal to the rank and file runners.
The Eastleigh event places fourth on list for the year 2000, while another popular local event, the Totton 10K, has moved into the charts at number ten.
Entries for this year's B&Q Eastleigh 10K are in their closing stages for the big day on Sunday, March 18.
Organisers are confident that the 1,200 capacity will be reached by the closing date of March 7 and they warn that even the youngsters' 2K fun run is likely to be oversubscribed on its 800 limit and entry on the day is ill-advised
