HUNDREDS of Eastleigh's Tory faithful are expected to turn out to hear outspoken former party chairman Norman Tebbit share his views on Europe.

Lord Tebbit will be addressing a public meeting in West End this evening organised by the local Conservative association.

Thousands of leaflets advertising the talk have already been distributed by local activists and organisers are expecting a full house in the 300-capacity parish centre.

The borough's would-be Tory, MP Conor Burns - an enthusiastic fan of Lord Tebbit's stance on Europe - was delighted that the former party boss was coming to Hampshire.

Mr Burns said Lord Tebbit would make it clear that the general election would decide the fate of the country's position in Europe.

He added: "I can think of no one better to spell out that message in the heart of Eastleigh than the most successful Conservative Party Chairman since the war. Lord Tebbit's views on Europe are indistinguishable from my own."

The meeting will take place between 6pm and 7pm at the centre off Chapel Road.
