Trojans Ladies first team, playing in National League Division 1, had another win at the weekend. Travelling away to Bradford, the team were keen to keep up their unbeaten record which they have maintained since the end of November.

Going into the half-time break at 0-0, they were hit within two minutes of the restart as Bradford went 1-0 up through some persistent shooting which finally beat keeper Sarah Ellis.

Trojans levelled following an excellent run by Lucy Fawcett down the left wing.

Having entered the D, she was fouled and Nadine Devereux scored into the bottom right-hand corner of the goal from the resulting penalty corner.

The scores stayed level until about 15 seconds before the final whistle when an excellent through ball was played to Alex Danson at the top of the D and she hit the ball into the top right-hand corner of the net.

The win means Trojans now lie fifth in the league and on equal points with next week's opponents, Harleston Magpies when a win could move them up to fourth and, depending on other results, posibly third.

The team has also been boosted by the selection of a number of their young players for the England teams.

Lucy Fawcett, Sarah Ellis and Nyssa McNeill have all been selected for the England Under-18 team.

Steph Farmer (17 years old) and Alex Danson (15) have both been picked to represent the England Under-21s in the World Cup in Argentina in May.

"Together with these excellent achievements, we have had a really good team spirit which I am sure has contributed to the teams recent success," said manager Louise Carter.

Remaining games: March 3 Harleston Magpies (H) 1.30pm, Wellington Sports Ground, Stoneham Lane; March 10 Sunderland (A), March 17 Woking (H), March 24 Aldridge (H), March 31 Wimbledon (A).
