A pony was killed last night on the B3054 near Norley Wood crossroads.
The road - which runs from Dibden Purlieu to Lymington - has one of the worst records in the New Forest for accidents involving animals.
There was a slight drop in the number of animal incidents on Forest roads last month, according to the Court of Verderers.
