Lymington & New Milton will be without suspended top scorer Leigh Phillips for tonight's heavyweight Jewson Wessex League clash with defending champions Wimborne Town at Fawcett's Field.

Linnets are desperate to narrow the six-point gap on league leaders Andover, while Alex Pike's Mapgies can ill afford to lose any more ground after Saturday's frustrating goalless stalemate at Hamble ASSC.

Lymington have looked distinctly off-colour in recent wins over Hamble and Swanage, but manager-in-waiting Graham Kemp insisted: "I cannot foresee any problems with the lads being up for this one. If we can't motivate ourselves for Wimborne, we never will."

Ex-Newport defender Tony White is drafted into an otherwise unchanged Magpies squad.

Basingstoke will catapault above arch-rivals Aldershot by winning tonight's Ryman Premier Division derby at The Camrose Ground (7.45).

There has been no love lost between the North Hampshire neighbours in recent years, but sixth-placed Stoke have mainly new personnel on board this season and assistant boss Pete Peters said: "As far as our lads are concerned, it's just another local derby and a chance to climb the table. Ultimately we're looking to get into the top three if we can."

Stoke defender Chris Honor is still unfit after three weeks out with a calf strain and Rob Cook is doubtful with a bruised instep.

Ex-Saint Dean Blake can expect to keep his place in the Havant & Waterlooville side for tonight's Dr Martens Premier tester at Welling.

Blake, who turned 21 last week, has been outstanding since breaking into the side in place of injured midfielder Timmy Hambley.

Hambley is now fit again but Ben Price drops out tonight with a twisted knee. Dave Wakefield comes into the squad following a month's loan at Salisbury.
