POLICE have appealed for the help of the public in tracing a "vulnerable" Winchester man who has been missing for more than a week.

Benjamin Bailey, 28, (pictured), was last seen on November 28 when he left his sister's home in North London, to return to his flat in St George's Street.

He said he intended to travel by train and would meet a woman friend in Winchester that evening.

But he failed to keep the appointment.

Police are concerned about Benjamin because it is believed he had fears for his own state of mental health.

When last seen he was wearing a grey and green fleece with blue jeans.

He is described as a white man, 6ft tall, of medium build. He has short dark brown hair, brown eyes and a pale complexion.

Benjamin has a small scar in the centre of his forehead and had a cut and bruise on the right side of his nose.

A police spokesman said: "We are very concerned about him.

"He is not a married man, but he does have parents living in the area."

Anyone who has seen Benjamin or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Janis Adair at Alton CID on 0845 045 45 45.
