RIVERS burst their banks, trees were blown down and hundreds of roads were flooded as the latest storm battered Hampshire.
Emergency services were called to deal with scores of flood-related incidents.
Forecasters say there is more in store as this weekend's weather could be as severe.
Among the worst affected areas were Romsey, Netley, Hamble, Fordingbridge - where the River Avon burst its banks - and parts of the New Forest. The Lymington River also overflowed, particularly in the Brockenhurst area.
Homes in Romsey and Wickham were either flooded or in danger of being swamped.
The South is already suffering the wettest autumn since records began and weather experts say there will be no let-up until at least next month. So far, the New Forest has borne the brunt of the deluge.
