Hi-tech Fareham hosted a European Internet at Cams Hall, the town's international telecommunications centre.
A special meeting of Fareham Technology Forum was held to welcome seven of Germany's top Internet companies.
The companies, on a short visit to the UK, are going to London, considered to be the heart of Europe's Internet business and Fareham. The borough, through its world class telecommunications links and hi-tech industry, has earned the name "Virtual London".
The trade mission gave Fareham business the opportunity to meet Germany's leading employers to discuss new technology - benefiting all concerned.
The visit, organised by South-East England Development Agency (SEEDA), included presentations from leading Fareham e-commerce companies and a tour of Merlin Communciations' new Teleport T1.
Fareham Borough Council leader Sean Woodward said: "Fareham's growing reputation as Virtual London is already beginning to bring real benefits in terms of employment opportunities and the desire by businesses to move to the borough."
