LINDEN Homes Winchester travelled through the wet and cold to face the Isle of Wight - and produced a dedicated all-round performance to take maximum points.

Tim Vail returned to the side to lead the charge, winning in straight sets. Cleland, Harris and Read all followed suit with read only dropping three points against Isle of Wight's Jamie McNaughten.

Chris Green fought well but John Foster completed a good night for Winchester, winning 3-1. All eyes now focus on the last match of this half of the season against fellow challengers Fair Oak on December 13.

Hendy Ford Winchester Juniors, whose season has been structured so that two matches are played on each match day, had tough assignments against Moonrakers, the Isle of Wight and Fair Oak. The Winchester first team lost their opening match against Moonrakers despite a great effort from Jon Beacham before they cruised to victory against Seacourt.

The second team put in all their effort against Moonrakers to pull off a tense draw before fading against Isle of Wight with only Aaron Cole grabbing some points for the side.

The fifth team, who faced a powerful Fair Oak side, lost in straight sets but completed their afternoon by gaining some points back in their defeat of Moonrakers.
