Hamble turned on the style to knock Yateley off the top of the Hampshire 1st XI hockey league.
Hamble won convincingly 3-1, taking the lead midway through the first half with some excellent one-touch link-up between the midfield and forwards pulling Yateley out of position. Dave Foster netted.
Mike Heaver added a second goal after the interval from a penalty corner.
Yateley staged a limited comeback in the last ten minutes after Hamble went down to ten men. They scored while Hamble were slow to re-organise.
But Yateley pushed too far forward and were cheekily punished by Steve Barber. He received a cross from the right and stood for what seemed an eternity on Yateley's goal line, with the goalkeeper stranded, eventually rolling the ball over the line.
Southampton drawing against Blandford gave Hamble breathing space at the top.
Hamble seconds suffered a 3-1 loss to Yateley seconds, the thirds won 5-1 to stay top of their league, and the fourths defeated Southampton 4-2.
Hamble Colts continued their unbeaten run this season by beating Andover 2-1 in a tough match which saw Kyle Stubley scoring twice.
