It could be likened to selling coals to Newcastle, but a small Hampshire-based software, consultancy and training company, Nimbus Partners, is celebrating winning a major contract to supply one of its products to Cisco Systems.

Cisco Systems is one of the latest multinationals to join the long list of blue chip clients for the graphical enterprise process management tool control.

Following several months of pilot trials, they recently concluded a deal for the supply, consulting support and training for an initial 150 users in a variety of departments at their main Silicon Valley campus in San Jose.

Applications include process mapping, communication, collaboration and management of the process and related content through control.

Adding Cisco Systems to an already impressive client list that includes, Orange, New Holland, Elekta and Sumitomo is further confirmation for chief executive, Ian Gotts that smaller companies like Nimbus can deliver the quality required in the IT sector.

"Our business is about helping our clients understand and manage their business processes so that they can be more successful," says Gotts. "We can create bespoke systems based on our product control that are especially useful for new businesses, or ones that are growing very quickly. Control also enables companies to conform to the new ISO9000 2000 standard."
