THE E factors appear to have Group I of the Famous Grouse Four Nations Classic at their mercy.

Despite Atherley B scoring a 15-0 maximum against hapless Honiton, the power struggle rests between East Dorset A and Exonia who both have 100 per cent records after two matches.

Who tops the section could well be decided when the leaders meet in the next round of fixtures on Sunday, December 17.

Atherley, beaten in their opening fixture, made amends in style, especially on their home patch where Dave Archibald won the singles 21-7 and Dave Bishop, Jim Barrett, Dink Mintrum and skip Mick Spreadbury trounced G Tillier 37-7 in the fours.

In Devon, Pete Gange and Ray Sutton inched through 18-17 in the pairs with the triple of Chris Hayes, Peter Rathband and Iain Bunday landing the triples 23-19.

Exonia overcame Moonfleet 11-4, while Dolphin A beat Victory B by an identical score. East Dorset were without a game.

Highlight in the latest Johnny Johnson Trophy matches at Atherley was the eight landed by Colin Fleming's rink in their 27-11 success against Ken Marsh.

That maximum helped Atherley C to a comfortable victory over Hants Police.
