QUEUES proved that an apple day kept no one away and managed to raise more than £600 for a wildlife garden.
The day offered fruit pies, jams and chutneys as well as bottled fruit and wine, many made with produce from the garden at the Hermitage off South Croft Road, Gosport.
One of the organisers, Pat Edwards, said: "By 1pm the weather had dried up and we had people queuing up to visit.
"All the money raised will be ploughed back into the garden."
