FORMER Southampton City and Havant athlete Zara Hyde-Peters has been appointed technical director of endurance events by UK Athletics.
Hyde-Peters, 37, has competed for Great Britain at distances from 3,000 to 10,000 metres in an international career spanning ten years.
She recently completed a masters degree in strategy and business management, having previously worked locally as an international business development manager for Exxon.
"This is an exciting time to be joining the endurance team," said Hyde-Peters.
"New Lottery funding for the development of potential along with the setting up of the performance infrastructure are significant steps in the right direction."
