JOHN BEST has been appointed chief executive of Eastleigh-based computer, administration and customer care training company Crescent Personnel and Training Services.

He was formerly the personnel manager of Haydon, Wimborne-based subsidiary of Johnson Controls, and has joined the fast-expanding training organisation to set out a management and training structure to enable further development in the next 12 months. It moves to bigger premises at Wessex House at the weekend.

It has already opened new training centres at Basingstoke, New Milton and Hythe in the last year.

He will be specifically responsible for ensuring Hampshire Training and Enterprise Council sub-contract work is successfully delivered throughout the county with the maximum number of people helped back into work.

He is also managing an Investors In People award programme, which the company hopes to gain later this year.

Assisting in contacts with potential employers will be Anne Milne, also appointed this month, to liaise with local organisations. More than 120 have successfully completed training programmes and awarded a nationally recognised qualification.
