Surrey look like being without their two top players for Sunday's South East Counties Golf League showdown against Hampshire at Brokenhurst Manor.

Twice English champion Paul Casey and one of the country's top teenagers, Zane Scotland, are both involved in the European Championship this week and unlikely to be back in time for the match.

It's a body blow for Surrey and a massive boost for hampshire because whoever wins on Sunday will go forward to the final play-off at Frinton in October.

It is the second year running that Hampshire and Surrey have met to decide their league group and last year Hampshire pulled off one of their finest-every victories only to lose out in the play-offs to Berks Bucks and Oxon.

Their cause on Sunday is helped by having two fine Brokenhurst Manor players in their ranks in Kevin Weeks and Martin Young. There are few better players around this tight and testing New Forest course than those two.

Weeks was stood down when Hampshire beat Kent in their last league match but is an automatic selection for this one.

New county champion Christy McLaughlin from Royal Jersey keeps his place after a successful debut against Kent and Ryan Henley gets the nod again to join younger brother Darren in the Hampshire team.

Stoneham-based Ryan was runner-up to McLaughlin in the county final and has since finished second in the Hampshire Open Championship.

Captain Lionel Smith has selected the following: Darren and Ryan Henley (Stoneham), Tim Markwick (South Winchester), Christy McLaughlin (Royal Jersey), Kevin Weeks and Martin Young (Brokenhurst Manor), Richard Ramskill (La Moye), Alan Mew (Stoneham).
