BASINGSTOKE Town are still looking for a taker for battling midfielder Steve 'Taffy' Richardson, who is available on a free transfer.
Dorchester have shown an interest but Salisbury City have ruled out a move for the Poole-based player because they cannot afford his wages.
Richardson has missed Stoke's recent friendlies because of a slight tear in the muscle above the knee but he should be fit within a week.
Stoke's assistant boss Pete Peters said: "I hope we get something fixed up soon. Taffy's very enthusiastic about his football and he wouldn't want to be hanging around on the sidelines for too long."
