The Island Sailing Club have introduced a new 'Early Bird' entry fee. Entries before noon on Easter Saturday, April 22, will be charged at just £39 per yacht.

It will be £45 for entries received between then and noon, May 20. After that, until bookings close on June 3, it will be £135 per yacht.

Island Sailing Club Commodore John Dudley said: "We are delighted people are taking our advice and booking early. We have limited entries to a maximum of 2,000 and we're on target for a record number this year."

The 50-nautical-miles 64th Hoya race, the largest and most popular yacht race of its type in the world, starts at 6.30am on June 10 for the first group of boats off the Royal Yacht Squadron starting line at Cowes.
