FIREFIGHTERS have rushed to the aid of a disabled Hampshire girl to give her a new lease of life.
Members of Red Watch at Redbridge station held a quiz night to raise £500 to buy a specially-adapted chair for cerebral palsy sufferer Tamara Waldock.
The four-year-old, who attends Cedar School, Redbridge Lane, Nursling, will use the chair to help her move more freely.
Station commander Graham Reeve said: "We received a letter from the school saying they needed this chair to help the young girl and that they couldn't afford it.
"So the Watch took it on board to organise a quiz night here, which was extraordinarily successful."
Head teacher Brian Hart thanked the firefighters for their help.
