EASTLEIGH youngsters studying leisure and tourism hit the sporting trail to help boost a local charity's millennium appeal.
The Barton Peveril students came up with the idea of a fund raising netball tournament, and their efforts resulted in more than £450 being raised for Leukaemia Busters.
They also raised cash by selling around 350 tickets for a leisure raffle that featured a host of prizes donated by local firms.
Student Gary Harvey said: "We are delighted that the success of our event will help us contribute to such a deserving cause."
A giant cheque was presented to Linda Ellis, events and publicity manager for the cancer charity.
She said: "This was a superb effort on their behalf and they all showed great dedication and enthusiasm."
