CHERRIES manager Mel Machin and Notts County boss Gary Brazil could be in hot water with the Football Association following last night's incident-packed FA Cup first-round replay at Dean Court.

Machin and Brazil will both be reported to the FA by Premiership referee Jeff Winter and could be hauled in front of Lancaster Gate chiefs to answer charges of bringing the game into disrepute.

Winter, who took Machin's name during the first half of Cherries' 4-2 win and was then confronted by Brazil following the final whistle, confirmed he would be reporting both managers for misconduct.

Machin remonstrated with Winter just 16 minutes into an absorbing contest after the Stockton-on-Tees-based official and his two assistants had made a succession of debatable decisions.

At first, it appeared Machin had been sent from the dug-out, but as the referee started to take his name, the Cherries boss darted down the tunnel and returned to his seat in the directors' box.

Brazil was furious with Winter's decision to award an injury-time penalty which Steve Robinson converted to make it 3-2 and also claimed Cherries' opening goal by Steve Fletcher should have been ruled out for a foul on goalkeeper Darren Ward.

Fletcher also scored in the 67th minute to put Bpournemouth 2-0 up before Notts County replied with two goals in six minutes through Redmile and Tierney.

Robinson's spot-kick regained the home lead before Mark Stein struck in the final seconds to seal Bournemouth's second-round date with Bristol City.
