STEVE BRUCE has made veteran defender Ken Monkou his eighth signing since taking over the reigns at Huddersfield during the close season.
Monkou, 34, has agreed a three-month contract after leaving Southampton and that deal is expected to be extended in due course.
Bruce said: "I'm very happy. He's a quality player who has spent each of the past ten years in the top flight.
"It's a deal that suits both parties. It gives us time to take a look at him and Ken will have the chance to make sure he's happy with us. I hope he'll be with us for longer than three months."
