SIMON BREWER has moved from his job as sail-making shift supervisor for North Sails at Fareham to head up the service team at North's sail loft in Hamble.

After eight years with North, he brings substantial sailmaking expertise to the Sailcare department, and is in overall control of sail alterations and repair.

It means he will become a familiar figure at major regattas where North's Sailcare service loft operates an overnight sail repair service. He is also an active sailor having competed in the Hamble spring series on a HOD 35, the winter series on an IMX38 and the recent Swan Worlds in Sardinia on a Swan 46.

He has worked on many different types of sails, from Whitbread, America's Cup and Admiral's Cup grand prix inventories and specialist projects, such as aero-rigged Jacquelina and all types and sizes of cruising sails. Pauline West has also moved from her role in Sailcare to the loft at Fareham.
