MATTHEW LE TISSIER believes he has found his perfect match - and now he is looking to play one!

After getting engaged to Home and Away actress Emily Symons, the Saints star is looking to crown a perfect month by firing the club towards safety at Wimbledon on Saturday.

Le Tissier needs to be happy and settled to produce his best form and it is no coincidence he has begun to sparkle again in recent weeks.

He said: "Life is pretty good right now and if we can stay up again it will be just perfect. I am very happy - she is different class!

"Emily came over at Easter and we got engaged then. She came back 10 days ago when we played at Derby but didn't go to the game as I was out injured. She doesn't quite understand football yet - but she's learning.

"I am planning to go over to Australia for three weeks in June and then she will visit me in July. Eventually she will come over here to live.

"I took her over to Guernsey last week to meet all the family and they all think she is wonderful which is a good start. My parents are delighted."

Having sorted out one Home and Away dilemma, Le Tissier is now determined to solve another one at Selhurst Park.

Saints have not lost at home in 1999 but have not won away since November. And Le Tissier knows they have to put that right against Wimbledon.

He said: "Having 9,000 fans there will be a brilliant boost for us. It will make it like a home game for us which, given our away record, is probably what we need right now. It is a tough game but a winnable one. Technically our fate still is not in our own hands but hopefully it will be after Saturday. As long as Blackburn don't win every game then I am confi-dent we will survive."

Le Tissier is still feeling the effects of his calf strain which forced him off after 52 minutes against Leicester but expects to be fit for Saturday.

He added: "It felt OK until about five minutes before half-time when it started to stiffen. I said at half-time I would see how it went but I did not want to do any more lasting damage so I came off just beforehand. It feels much the same as it did this time last week so I reckon I should be OK to play.

Chris Marsden missed training yesterday with a groin injury but should be fit for Saturday while Hassan Kachloul reports his shoulder is sore again now that the pain-killing injection has worn off but he will again play through it.
